LAW PRACTICE
I have been engaged in the practice
of law with the firm of Willeke & Daniels in Minneapolis,
Minnesota, since 1986. My primary areas of practice are residential
and commercial real estate including purchase and sale of residential
and commercial real estate, condominium/townhome development, residential
and commercial leasing, mechanics liens, easements, real estate
litigation, mortgage foreclosure and contract for deed cancellation. I have been certified as a Real Property Law Specialist since January,
1990.
Prior to entering private practice,
I was a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Minnesota
from 1976 to 1986. During that time, I provided legal representation
for the following: Department of Administration, Department of Finance,
State Cable Communications Board, State Treasurer's Office, Department
of Military Affairs, State National Guard and Minnesota Racing Commission. My areas of specialization while with the Attorney General's Office
included all aspects of real estate, contract review, cable television
franchising and regulation, data privacy (Minnesota Government Data
Practices Act), administrative law (rulemaking and contested cases),
unclaimed property and pari-mutuel horse racing. I was counsel
to the Minnesota Racing Commission from its inception through its
first season of horse racing. During my tenure with the Attorney
General's Office, I handled cases before the Minnesota Supreme Court,
the United States District Court, State District Courts and the
Office of Administrative Hearings.
Before joining the Attorney General's
Office, I worked for the Ramsey County Attorney's Office as an Assistant
County Attorney (July, 1975, through January, 1976). I handled
several mental commitment hearings, as well as some criminal matters
(probable cause hearings and omnibus hearings).
